Adam Aron, AMC’s chief executive, said “currency rates are highly favourable” for the deal with the pound falling to a three-decade low against the dollar. AMC said yesterday it was working to save that deal but added that some shareholders had “an unrealistic view as to Carmike’s value to AMC”.
