The coalition is on track to win at least 74 seats in the House of Representatives, just two shy of a majority, and is confident of picking up at least two of the five seats, where counting is continuing. Counting is continuing in the election for the upper house of parliament and will not be completed for weeks. But early predictions suggest the Liberal-National coalition will need to win the support of several minor party and independent senators to pass legislation.
